The Benedictine monks of Ampleforth Abbey founded St. Austin's Catholic School in 1838.
We are a large urban primary school, serving the Parishes of St. Austin and St. Bernadette. We are very popular with parents and admit the equivalent of two and a half forms each year.
Our Mission Statement underpins everything we do in our school, and drives all aspects of school life.
Our school has been acknowledged with a number of externally verified awards, and we enjoy excellent support and co-operation from all of our Clergy, Governors staff and parents.
We have strong links with the community, and our links with Hope University, John Moores University, Liverpool Community College and St. Benedict’s College ensure that our work with student teachers and work experience students continues to thrive.
St. Austin’s is part of the Liverpool City Council’s Centre of Excellence project for primary modern languages. We began teaching Spanish to all pupils in the school in September 2003.
The classroom teachers remain in the classroom during Spanish lessons and take an active part in the lessons.
All our 500 pupils learn Spanish and there is a great enthusiasm and dedication to the subject from all of the staff and pupils at the school where Spanish permeates the everyday fabric of our school life.
En nuestro colegio todos somos especiales. Amaremos y serviremos como Jesús nos enseñó.
You all know this person. She teaches Spanish at our school. Here she tells us a bit about herself.
